Gathered in Grace,
Rooted in Truth

A fellowship of believers in Emporia, Kansas, worshipping Christ and growing together in Christ in the Reformed Baptist tradition.

Hebrews 12:2  ·  “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”

A Fellowship Growing Toward a Church

Emporia Reformed Baptist Fellowship is a gathering of Christians committed to following and serving Christ according to the historic Reformed Baptist faith, meeting together in Emporia, Kansas.

We are not yet constituted as a formal church, but we are prayerfully and purposefully working toward that end — seeking to build a covenanted congregation that faithfully preaches and embodies the Gospel.

We hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as a faithful summary of biblical doctrine, and we believe that the sovereignty of God in salvation, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the centrality of Christ are essential to our identity.

All who love the Lord Jesus Christ and desire to grow in grace are warmly welcome among us.

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Matthew 18:20  ·  ESV

The Pillars of Our Faith

Scripture Alone

We hold the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired, inerrant, and wholly sufficient Word of God — the only infallible rule of faith and practice for the Church.

The Doctrines of Grace

We joyfully confess the sovereign grace of God in salvation: Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Definite Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and the Perseverance of the Saints.

Believers' Baptism

We practice the baptism of professing believers by immersion, as a public declaration of union with Christ in his death and resurrection, consistent with our Baptist convictions.

Christ Alone

We proclaim that sinners are justified before a holy God solely through faith in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ — his perfect life, atoning death, and victorious resurrection.

The Lord's Supper

We observe the Lord's Supper as a memorial ordinance, proclaiming the Lord's death until he comes, shared by those who have professed faith and been baptized as believers.

The 1689 Confession

We affirm the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1689) as a subordinate standard that faithfully summarises the teaching of Scripture and stands in the stream of historic Reformed theology.

1689 London Baptist Confession

“The Holy Scripture is the only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience… the authority of the Holy Scripture, for which it ought to be believed, dependeth not upon any testimony of any man or church; but wholly upon God (who is truth itself) the author thereof.”
